The UK’s largest supplier of gift, loyalty and membership cards handed out tasty treats to industry experts at the UK gift card sector’s biggest event.

The GCVA (Gift Card and Voucher Association) Conference 2022 was held on 2nd and 3rd March in London and attracted representatives of both major brands and retailers who use gift cards, and those who supply them.

Incodia distributed samples of their unique ‘Gift for Now, Gift Card for Later’ concept which blends a sample gift with a gift card. On this occasion, the gift was Milk Chocolate Honeycomb Bites from Joypots.

“It’s always nice to spread a little joy, particularly when everyone is hard at work. Not only was there a lot of interest in our product, but of course a lot of interest in the chocolate too!” says Paul Gerrard, Sales Director of Incodia.

Having been conducted online due to covid, the GCVA Conference this year returned as a physical event at the Hilton, London Bankside, for the first time since the pandemic.

The trade event brings together members of the sector from across the UK, Europe and further afield, to discuss trends, showcase innovation, share expertise and develop relationships.

Incodia produces over 350 million gift, loyalty and membership cards each year for many of the UK and Europe’s biggest brands, retailers and membership organisations.

Since its launch, their ‘Gift for Now, Gift for Later’ product has caught the imagination of both consumers and brands.

“Innovation is key. Even better than receiving a gift card to spend on yourself, is a gift card with a gift to enjoy right now. It’s just one example of how we help clients increase revenue from their gift offering” adds Paul.

The concept has been adapted to feature gifts including perfume, cosmetics, clothing and now confectionery.

In return for the sample, Incodia asked recipients at the GCVA conference to donate £3 towards the GCVA’s chosen charities, The Separated Child Foundation and Safe Passage, which they then matched.

The Separated Child Foundation offers emotional, social, financial and physical support to separated children and young people in the UK. Safe Passage supports child refugees who arrive in Europe alone and need help finding their new life.

Incodia is also a growing producer of packaging for food, confectionery, toiletries and cosmetics, and produce outer packaging for Joypots whose sweet treats were included in the concept.

The popular brand is available in a growing number of retailers including gift shops, artisan food stores, high-end hamper companies and various independents, and features varieties including Milk Chocolate Brazils, Dark Chocolate Almonds and many more.

“When Incodia suggested the collaboration, we thought it was a perfect marriage. What could be better than planning how to spend your gift card, whilst enjoying a box full of delicious joy!” states Daniel Brower, Managing Director of Joypots.

With samples enjoyed by representatives of many well-known brands and retailers, Incodia are confident their ‘Chocolate for Now, Gift Card for Later’ will be making its way into retailers’ gift card displays across the UK soon.
